The Process of Flower Preservation

3- Dimensional preservation is a created by using a technique of drying each flower individually, in its entirety, and is ideal for Bridal Bouquets and Remembrance Flowers allowing for the incorporation of other materials that may have been used in the arrangement, such as diamanté, pearls, berries, ribbons, and photographs.

Preserved flowers when dried keep their original structure & form but their colour will lighten or darken or vary in colour tone due to the rapid extraction of moisture from each bloom.  Colours can be enhanced to an extent to bring a renewed vibrancy to your picture.

Flowers preserved by this method are displayed in box frames.  This allows a constant working depth in which to reconstruct the shape and structure of your original arrangement.

Flower Preservation is a beautiful & unique art form, creating a stunning picture to cherish and treasure for always. You will observe, over the years, subtle colour changes in your picture, this is quite normal, as your flowers will naturally age over time.

Realistic Expectations of Preservation - Natural Ageing

Fresh flowers, once picked, have an extremely limited life expectancy. When arranged in a Bridal Bouquet or even displayed in a water retaining material, flowers quickly deteriorate as their natural life ends.

The process of preservation requires flowers to be as fresh as possible which is why I request flowers no later than 2 days after an event. Flowers, being organic and delicate will change or vary in colour and appearance during the preservation process.

If blooms are older, bruised, wilted, or stressed, these issues will be reflected further in preservation. Unfortunately, I am unable to reverse any ageing or damage to your blooms. I do colour enhance flowers and foliage after preservation to help bring a little more vibrancy to their colours I display all flowers behind glass with UV properties or embedded in UV stabilized resin. This reduces and slows damage caused by UV light.

Preservation is a method of having a unique opportunity of keeping your flowers for years to come, but please be aware once framed or embedded flowers and foliage, being organic, will still age and mellow over time and go through changes. This is perfectly normal - after all flowers and foliage once cut only last a week or two! Please follow all care instructions provided with your artwork and I hope you will enjoy the meaning of your preserved flowers and the memories attached for years to come.

Pressed Flower Preservation

The traditional art of flat flower preservation, pressed pictures are created by dismantling each flower and every individual petal, pressing, then carefully reconstructing to create a beautiful floral keepsake in a conventional flat frame.

A selection of gold effect, dark & light wood Oval & Circle frames available as well as bespoke rectangle, square & octagonal frames, made to your exact requirements and are ideal for smaller rooms with limited wall space

Script, photographs, ribbons & some berries may be incorporated into your pressed design, however some items such as diamanté and crystals may not suitable, but instead would be perfect used within the 3-D preservation method.

Please note not all flowers are suitable for pressing, and like preserved flowers, will change in colour, but can be enhanced to produce a beautiful picture. You may observe, over the years, subtle colour changes in your picture, this is quite normal, as your flowers will naturally age over time.
